TERMS OF BUSINESS

All floor coverings and removable items must be removed prior to hardwood and laminate installation.

All floors must be in a reasonable condition so that hardwood and laminate flooring installation can commence upon arrival. Floors must be completely dry, clean and free from dust.

Where it has not been possible to see the floor in its natural state prior to installation and the floor is severely uneven, it may be necessary to sheet the floor. This will incur an extra cost.

Hardwood flooring and solid wood, when cut, create sawdust.  It is advisable to protect all other household items during installation.

The company does not take responsibility for fitting hardwood or laminate floors on an uneven sub-floor.

Doors requiring cutting prior to the installation of hardwood or laminate flooring will be charged at £15 each.

Payment for materials is due prior to hardwood or laminate flooring installation. All cheques must be cleared prior to delivery and installation.

Payment for hardwood and laminate flooring installation is due strictly upon completion.

Whilst every effort will be made to avoid disrupting any sub-floor pipes and cables during the installation of your new hardwood and laminate flooring, the company does not accept responsibility for any accidental damage to concealed pipe supplies.

All hardwood, solid wood and laminate, as well as other materials, remain the property of first floors until payment has been received in full.

The company does not accept responsibility for damage to floors and furniture where the room is not entirely empty.

All hardwood, solid wood and laminate floors will expand and contract due to temperature variances. Rooms should be well ventilated at all times. The company does not accept responsibility for new floors where expansion and contraction has occurred as this is a natural process.

All hardwood, solid and laminate flooring samples provide a small representation of the characteristics of the finished product. Larger areas may contain a variation of colour, grain and texture.

Cancellation of a hardwood or laminate flooring installation less than one week prior to installation will result in a 25% cancellation fee of the original sum agreed.

It is the customer’s responsibility to dispose of waste.

All credit card payments carry a surcharge of 2.9%. There is no surcharge for debit card payments.

All timber/wood products are a natural product and contain sap-wood, knots, shimmers and shakes.

Throughout a lifetime timber floors such as hardwood, solid wood and laminate will experience a natural expansion and shrinkage creating individual character and appearance.
