Your Engineered Wood Flooring – Beading and Finishing

Engineered wood flooring Glasgow

So you’ve had engineered wood flooring installed in your home, what about the beading and finishing?

Or maybe you haven’t yet decided, as it can be a really daunting task. Do you go for solid wood flooring, an engineered wood floor, or perhaps a vinyl or laminate?  There seem to be so many questions and hundreds of products to choose from. One of the most popular products becoming more and more current is an engineered wood floor. An engineered wood floor is fantastic because they will float on top of your existing floor. The construction is comprised of 3 layers of ply with a wood veneer finish. The composition of this board makes it extremely solid and will not contract and expand as much as a solid wood floor. You really cannot tell the difference between an engineered and solid wood as it is a real wood veneer. They can be sanded up to around 6 times which we think is a lifetime of use. Now, you have chosen your flooring may it be laminate, vinyl, solid or an engineered wood floor. The finish of the floor is very important to. We can remove your skirting and then lay the floor. The skirting can then be replaced after the job is done. This will give a nice clean finish. Alternatively, we we can use beading or scotia, which comes in the nearest possible match to your floor or white. We find that white beading is a great choice as it will blend in completely to your white skirting which seems to be the most common colour. It really depends on the condition of your skirting and the look you are aiming for. If your floor has been raised and you find that the doors will not open or close properly due to the new height, then not to worry as our fitters will literally shave the required amount of measurement from the bottom of your door which will resolve this problem. This can be done by removing the doors or there are new tools available that can shave the bottom side of the door without removing the door. All aspects from start to finish are covered here at First Floors. If you have heavy pieces of furniture and you are worried about scratching your floor etc, then you need not fret. The floors at First Floors are extremely tough and maintenance friendly. Simple felt pads can be stuck to the bottom of your furniture making it easy to move. Please pop into our showroom where we will delighted to show you around our gorgeous range of flooring options and we will even make you a cup of coffee. Our website has a range of information on engineered wood flooring or call us on 0141 638 0968 for help and guidance.

Fantastic service. David gave me great advice on which flooring would be most suitable for my business premises. Within the week Steven came to fit the flooring and, as promised, was in and out in a day. Can’t recommend this local Company enough. Anna Smylie ZuZu Giffnock.

We recently purchased engineered oak flooring and carpets from First Floors. The customer service from David and team was exceptional. We had just moved home from overseas and bought a house with no floors so we did not have access to allow First Floors to measure. Theye allowed us to use our own measurements as we wanted the floors laid ASAP once we had the keys. The floor is beautiful and laid very professionally (thanks Steven). The carpets are also lovely and exactly what I wanted. The only thing I would change about the experience would be to have First Floors assess the house in advance. We have fire doors which were a problem the day the carpets were laid. This was not the issue of First Floors and it was resolved quickly. Thanks again David, we would highly recommend First Floors to anyone.

Another Great Job Done!!
Just had our third floor project in seven years completed by First Floors once again.
Great service from David and his showroom team from assisting in the selection of materials through to arranging the installation. Chris and his team worked tidily and efficiently on the hardwood flooring with great attention to detail. Gordon who fitted the stair carpet was very professional in his work and was able to resolve some problematic details to our entire satisfaction.
Would definitely recommend First Floors.
