Fantastic product, beautifully fitted and excellent service – the best money I have ever spent! I have a 2-bedroom tenement flat in the West End of Glasgow and for a while I have wanted to replace my original pine flooring with solid oak hardwood flooring in the lounge and hallway. I shopped around online and First Floors were the best value for money I found (I went for the 18mm solid oak with lacquered finish). There were a couple of companies that were very slightly cheaper but that was for a thinner board and I wanted something more substantial. The service I received was absolutely superb, David came around to the flat on Sun to show me the various samples and within 8 days the lounge and hallway were completed (it was a 2 day job for the actual fitting). The quality of the fitting far exceeded my expectations – in many tricky areas there is now a very neat finish and in most places the floorboards look as though they go right under the skirting. All the boards are snugly joined but there looks to be just enough give for a little expansion/contraction that you naturally get with solid wood.
