So what do you use to clean hardwood floors? Contrary to many advertisements we see on the television, in our experience we don’t believe that steam cleaners are suitable. They are very aggressive and the advice is not to use direct steam on real wood as this can penetrate the surface. In fact, real wood – engineered and solid wood boards – are pretty much maintenance free. We recommend using a brush to remove debris, and using a mop and light detergent if you have any dried on mud or dirt. One of the products which will bring out your beautiful new floor is a specialised mop by Bona. This is a spray mop that is easy to use and is specifically designed for wood floors. The Bona spray mop is easy cleaning for wooden floors, just spray and clean. It has an ergonomic design and a washable microfibre cleaning pad. Used in conjunction with the cleaning fluid this product is the only safe bespoke product to bring out the true beauty of your floor. Just remember not to get your wood floor wet and don’t drag furniture as this can cause marks.
